I wrote in an earlier post "no-one reads this blog anyway". Now, mostly they don't, because I don't publicise or link it much. And that's all good.
But I wrote the above quoted sentence before noticing the 43 comments that have been left on a post I made just over a year ago about removing a particularly sneaky bit of malware. Seems that my original intention (to get in the Google search results for people suffering the same predicament as I did a year ago) was pretty successful, and I'm very pleased that the advice I provided seems to have helped several people. Gives one a nice warm glow inside, it does. I've even found my removal guide copypasta'd onto several forums (judicious Google searching for key phrases and all that).
So to those who visited (or even are still visiting) as a result of having picked up that nasty virus-trojan-malware-thing; thanks for your comments, and I'm very glad I was able to be of assistance. I'm not a technical support guy though, so I'm sorry that I can't really help with some of the more detailed questions that a few of you left - in fact, the point behind my post was to try and outline the solution in vaguely layman-ish terms for the intermediate level user. Anyway, I'm just glad it helped.
